There are several reasons customers opt for an L-shaped design for their custom bars. It creates more space for guests to huddle around the bar. It adds for a warmer atmosphere where conversation is easier than linear seating. It also makes it easier for the bartender to attend to all guests.
One of the commons questions we encounter, is how should an L-shaped front bar should connect with the back bar? View below all four possible options.

While Option 1 takes the most space, Option 2 takes the least space possible.
Many customers like Option 3, especially those with have a pillar in the corner of their bar. It is also alternative to Option 4 that has an inaccessible area. That “dead spot” in the corner of Option 4 is where the front and back bar meet. However, it could be resolved if the back bar is pushed apart from the short arm of the front bar to allow for use of that space in that “dead spot”.
