1. What are the most common appliances to have in your home bar?
The most common undercounter appliances for a home bar are:
a. Beverage Fridge
If you have a space for only one item, get this! Perfect for your beers and soft drinks as well.
b. Wine Cooler
Ideal if you’re a vino lover who drinks it regularly, otherwise you can skip it.
c. Ice Maker
A must-have for many, especially fans of preparing cocktails, or mocktails.
d. Kegerator
This is what you buy if you’re a beer enthusiast and one who appreciates a genuine bar feel.
There are smaller and popular versions of some of the above appliances like a mini fridge or a compact ice maker:
2. What is the best place for undercounter appliances, the front bar or the back bar?
Based on information collected from our customers, the majority (around 70%) place their undercounter appliances in the front bar. The reason behind that is due to the fact that almost half of those who own home bars do not buy a back bar, either for budget or space limitations.
But even if they have a back bar, there is other reasons why many prefer to place their, for example, fridge in the front bar. On certain back bars, the design is such that a custom open space could undermine its symmetry and design. In some cases, it basically might ruin the look. That is avoidable when it’s embedded into the front bar. Additionally, wouldn’t it be nicer if the host does not have to turn their back onto the guests to grab a drink or get ice? In summary, the ideal place is in the front bar but you could certainly consider the back bar if its design allows.
Although it is convenient to embed your appliances within your custom bar (front or back unit), in many cases that does not work. Some bar sets are too small, or perhaps their owners do not want to give up on features like wine glass racks or shelves and cabinets. In that case, it is perfectly fine to place your appliances somewhere around your bar.
3. Besides these appliances, what else to consider for my home bar?
Some home bar owners go as far as furnishing their spaces with dish washers, blenders, microwaves and even coffee machines. One item that has been gaining popularity recently is a back bar LED-Lighted bottle display shelves. If you search for such words on Google or Amazon, you could find it at different sizes and options.
